Artist's Description
The Alice E
11X15 Watercolor on Arches WIP.
The Alice E was built in 1899 and is the oldest Friendship Sloop sailing today. Her builder and exact location are a mystery but we know that she was built somewhere near Friendship, Maine. Alice E. was first used as a working lobster boat. In the 1930s she was purchased by a doctor and renamed Depression. In 1984 she was rebuilt with local cedar and oak here in Maine. After purchasing her, we rechristened her Alice E. restoring her original name. She sails out of Southwest Harbor and is 42 overall.

This is beautiful, Warren - one of your best ! Thanks for commenting on GARDEN AT EDEN Number Two . . and, yes, it would be fun to tackle it with watercolor, certainly a more conventional medium.
