Golden Voice
Venezuela's National Tree. It is represented by the Araguaney, known scientifically as Tabebuia Chrysantha. It was declared National Tree on May 29th, 1948. The first part of its scientific name is of indigenous origin and the second derived from Greek meaning “golden voice”. It is also known as Acapro, Curari, Araguán, Cañada, Yellow Flower and Puy.Indigenous to the country, its height varies between 6 and 12 meters. Its trunk is characterized for being straight, cylindrical, averaging 60 centimeters in diameter with a bifurcated branch structure and extended crown. During the months of February and May it imparts a colored aura of extraordinary beauty in every place.
